Kettle Moraine Eastern Bluebird Recycled Nest Box
This Eastern Bluebird house is more than just a cavity for a bird to build a nest in - it is a well-designed and approved nesting site. Approved by the North American Bluebird Society, this box is easy to monitor and clean thanks to its flip-down front panel. A fledgling ladder below the exit provides the bluebirds with additional traction, and the ample ventilation just under the roofline along with drainage holes on the bottom help keep the nest dry. Constructed of recycled plastic and stainless steel screws, this is a very well-made box.
The included information sheet provides details on the Nest Box Features: a 1½" entry to keep out larger birds and predators, a copper portal to maintain the entry hole, and a grooved fledgling ladder below the exit. Excellent drainage and ventilation are also integrated into the design.
Complementing the sturdy nest box is the Pole Kit, featuring heavy-duty black powder-coated steel construction. The 3-piece, 1" diameter tubular pole stands 68" tall and is anchored by a Twister Ground Socket that twists 20" into the ground for extra stability. Screws are included for easy assembly.
An optional squirrel baffle, also made of galvanized steel and powder-coated black, can be added to the pole. Measuring 16-3/4" long and 6-1/4" in diameter, the baffle helps keep squirrels from accessing your bird feeders. To be effective, the pole should be placed 8-10' away from railings, roofs, or trees, preventing the squirrels from leaping over the baffle. The baffle should be mounted a minimum of 4' from the ground.
