This Eastern Bluebird house provides a safe and well-designed nesting site, approved by the North American Bluebird Society. It features a flip-down front panel for easy monitoring and cleaning, and a fledgling ladder below the exit to give the birds additional traction. The box is constructed with recycled plastic and stainless steel screws, ensuring durability and environmental-friendliness.
The 1.5-inch entry with a copper portal is specifically designed to accommodate Eastern Bluebirds, while deterring larger birds. Excellent ventilation and drainage under the roof line and at the bottom of the box help keep the nest dry and comfortable for the birds.
The included pole kit is made of heavy-duty, black powder-coated steel, with a 3-piece, 1-inch diameter tubular pole and a Twister Ground Socket that twists 20 inches into the ground for extra stability. The overall height of the pole is 68 inches, and screws are provided for easy installation.
To further protect the nesting site, a galvanized steel, powder-coated black squirrel baffle is also included. The baffle measures 16-3/4 inches long and 6-1/4 inches in diameter, and should be placed a minimum of 4 feet from the ground to the top of the baffle.
Per EPA regulations, this product qualifies as a "pesticide device," which does not require registration with the EPA. The company makes no claims regarding the effectiveness of the squirrel- and predator-mitigating features, as they have not been scientifically tested.
